Essays from The Sun receive honorable mention in the Best American series

Three essays published in The Sun have been listed as “Notable Essays of 2007” in this year’s Best American Essays anthology. The authors whose work received this distinction are:

Akhim Yuseff Cabey, “Thick” [February 2007]
Poe Ballantine, “Wide-Eyed in the Gaudy Shop” [March 2007]
Dustin Beall Smith, “Shade: A Letter from Gettysburg” [May 2007]

In addition, Krista Bremer’s essay “My Accidental Jihad” [October 2007] has been listed as a “Notable Essay of 2007” in this year’s Best American Spiritual Writing anthology.
