Essay from The Sun selected for Best American Essays 2009

David James Duncan’s essay “Cherish This Ecstasy” [July 2008] was selected to appear in The Best American Essays 2009 (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt). Congratulations to Duncan, who lives in Montana and is the author of several books as well as a renowned fly fisherman.

Four essays published in The Sun are listed as “Notable Essays of 2008” in this year’s Best American Essays anthology. The authors whose work received this distinction are:

In addition, Rachel Yoder’s story “I Want To Forgive Everyone, Trousers” [May 2008] is listed as a “Distinguished Story of 2008” in this year’s Best American Short Stories anthology.
