this dark violence
in her eyes & I am
drawn in again as always

the way her mouth blooms
under my lips & the pale
body that lights the darkness

she knots her dreams
one by one sitting
in the open window

the sound of weeping violins
& out there somewhere
in the dark the river

prowls thru the country
side I have broken my heart
open on the thin edge of her love

& now I lone it thru the night
pushing for that slender rim
of sun rising on the horizon

only to meet the dark violence
of her eyes & they take
me under
again
