James Thornton teaches fifth grade in Boynton Beach, Florida. In his most recent dispatch, he sadly reports, “Thornton awoke from uneasy dreams and found himself transformed in his bed into a third person, limited point of view. He was incapable of bringing himself to even think the pronoun ‘I.’ With his right hand, he brushed a large chunk of matter from the corner of his right eye. ‘What has Thornton found here?’ he mused. ‘Could this be some sort of crystallized tear?’ ” More on Thornton’s tragic undoing in the next issue.
