Space Children
I see you sometimes as
if, in some distant
galaxy, my own
hands had delivered your

birth at other

go is dark as night’s
outermost shell, opaque
as sun’s blazing
heart — yet here we
are, miraculous
birds outdistancing
light, impossibly

soaring, each under
the other’s wing
