July 20, 2021Reader support keeps this ad-free, nonprofit magazine in circulation, so twice a year we ask subscribers to donate and become A Friend of The Sun. Donations provide operating support, ensure we can pay writers and photographers fairly, and help us give the magazine away to teachers, incarcerated individuals, and others in need. The generosity of our readers is humbling — and inspiring. More than three thousand people have donated to The Sun as part of our spring fundraising campaign through recurring monthly donations and one-time gifts.
