Many sections of this wild land are often closed to visitors due to stormy (or calm) weather. You will find the terrain varied and interesting, the climbs challenging, and the descents exhilarating. It’s perfect for a daylong exploration, or even an overnight stay.
The path leading into the wilderness area is only faintly marked, so you might make several false starts before reaching the actual trail head. Maps are useless here, as directions often change, rendering your reference points unreliable. Be prepared for any eventuality.
