Catherine Ryan Hyde is the author of several novels, including Electric God and Pay It Forward (both Simon & Schuster). She is also the founder of the Pay It Forward Foundation, which provides resources and ideas to promote the spirit of giving. Her latest book, Walter's Purple Heart, is due out next year. She lives in Cambria, California.
