Warm air smothers my every move,
My body’s skin has reached a balance,
Feeling as warm inside as outside of it;
The cat licks her fur for coolness only,
Her soft white fur smooths like your skin,
Sluicing my thoughts to your chest:
Hair curling like a thousand child’s ringlets,
Warmth lifting me as the waves of your breath
Lull me to dream, to sleep in the hold
Your body forms, a small boat carries us,
Drifting, on the black, cool waters of night.
